Kaskade ft Skylar Grey ‘Room For Happiness’

Posted by: Muzu Team In: MUZU.TV

Named America’s best DJ by DJ Times and Pioneer last year, Kaskade releases the 3rd single from his 7th studio album ‘Room For Happiness’. The single features the beautiful and etheral vocals of US singer songwriter Skylar Grey who also co-wrote the record.

In 2012, Kaskade will appear at this year’s Coachella and will hit the road in June for his biggest headlining tour ever — 70-plus North American shows in just over three months. His own live show is a jaw-dropping spectacle. His belief in the transformative power of dance music to uplift thousands of people at once has had a significant effect on the U.S. scene. His ground-breaking double residency in Las Vegas at the Encore Beach Club (which had not even been built when he signed on) and Marquee has elevated the city’s status as a premiere club-going destination on par with London, Berlin, and Ibiza, is another testament to his influence.

RIP Kurt Cobain

Posted by: Muzu Team In: MUZU.TV

It’s that fateful day again, that comes round but once a year. No, not Christmas, but the anniversary of one of our greatest and most iconic rock star’s death, Kurt Cobain. Commiting suicide on this day, 18 years ago in 1994, Kurt left the legacy of Nirvana behind him, arguably one of the most influential grunge bands of all time.

In the late 1980s Nirvana established itself as an integral part of the Seattle grunge scene, releasing Bleach on Sub Pop in 1989. Nirvana found unexpected but incredible success with “Smells Like Teen Spirit“, which was taken from Nirvana’s second album Nevermind (1991). Nirvana’s set the bench mark and alt-rock came to the forefront of musical culture with Kurt Cobain becoming the “spokesman of a generation”. Various posthumous releases have been issued since the death of Kurt, overseen by other members Novoselic, Grohl, and Cobain’s widow Courtney Love. The band have sold over 25 million records in the United States alone, and over 75 million records worldwide. Kurt’s legacy lives on and Nirvana’s influence is still seen in bands today. Here’s some of our favourites from the vaults.

There was never really any doubt that Guns N’ Roses were to make it into the Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame, it was just a question of when. The date has been set, and now it announce that Green Day will deliver Guns N’ Roses’ induction speech at the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on April 14 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Others set to make it in this year include, Red Hot Chili Peppers, who will be inducted by Chris Rock, Public Enemy’s Chuck D will induct the Beastie Boys, and Bette Midler will induct the late Laura Nyro, ZZ Top will induct Freddie King, Carole King for Don Kirshner, John Mellencamp for Donovan and the E Street Band’s Steve Van Zandt for Small Faces/Faces. Rolling Stone also stated that Smokey Robinson will induct The Blue Caps, The Comets, The Crickets, The Famous Flames, The Midnighters and The Miracles and The Band’s Robbie Robertson will induct Cosimo Matassa, Tom Dowd and Glyn Johns.

Ex-Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum revealed he may possibly team with Slash to perform with Donovan at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony. It seems genuine Guns N’ Roses reunion is not going to happen then. He told VH1 Radio Network: “I might play drums with Donovan because I played with him one time before, and ‘Hurdy Gurdy Man’ was a song he recorded that John Bonham played drums on and Jimmy Page was the guitar player. I offered Donovan that me and Slash could play that maybe, but I haven’t heard back if he wants us to do it or not.”

Check out Slash’s solo offering here for a slice of what is to come at the ceremony.
