The music industry is never one to shy away from controversy, be it artists in the limelight for their misgivings (see Chris Brown), or music videos showcasing a lifestyle that most members of the public can only dream of. Bearing that in mind, we’ve compiled a top five list of the craziest music videos ever. Be it explicit or just plain old stir crazy, these are the top five that made the MUZU.TV cut. 5. “Sexy and I Know It” is a song by American electro-hop duo LMFAO from their second studio album, Sorry for Party Rocking. It was released as the third single from the album on September 16, 2011. The song was written by Stefan Kendal Gordy, GoonRock, Erin Beck, George M. Robertson and Kenneth Oliver, and it was produced by Party Rock. The video features a parade of LMFAO in thongs, and some strange scenes involving gyration. Just Lovely.

4. “Stupid Hoe” (in clean versions known as “Stupid Stupid”) is a song by Trinidadian-American hip hop artist Nicki Minaj. It was released on December 20, 2011 as the single from her second studio album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. It was produced by Diamond Kuts, credited as T. Dunham. A music video for the song was shot and directed by Hype Williams. The video went to break the record for the most views by a single artist within 24 hours of its release. Superstar Nicki Minaj is never one to shy away from the spotlight, and this video shows the world renowned artist, trapped in a cage dressed as multiple animals, in various stages of undress. I’m not sure where she gets her imagination from but this is seriously impressive work.

3. “Telephone” is a song written and performed by Lady Gaga. It was released from her third extended play (EP) and second major release The Fame Monster (2009). The song, featuring American R&B singer Beyoncé Knowles, was written by Gaga and Rodney Jerkins. Inspired by her “Fear of Suffocation Monster”. “If you’re gona kill a cow, you gotta make a burger”. Need I saw more? Gaga’s got a giant telephone on her head a Beyonce is in hotpants, I think that’s all you need to know about this one.

2. “Smack My Bitch Up” is a song by The Prodigy, released as the band’s twelfth single on 17 November 1997. It was the third and final single from the album The Fat of the Land. The lyrics “Change my pitch up / Smack my bitch up” are repeated through the whole song. The band defended the song, saying that the lyrics were being misinterpreted as misogynistic and the song actually meant “…doing anything intensely…”. The song led to a publicised disagreement at the 1998 Reading festival after the Beastie Boys asked the group not to play the track.

1. “Antidote” is a song by Swedish house music group Swedish House Mafia in collaboration with Australian electro house duo Knife Party. It was released on December 16, 2011 the United States as the second single from the Swedish House Mafia live album, One Night Stand. The video features a heist in a Japanese strip club, with certain people talking in Japanese (subtitles included). The explicit version contains violent and sexual scenes, and I personally would rate it 18, if not higher!
